Poker Blog - NH GG FU

Well it was bound to happen. I blame a particular player on BMN for doomswitching me by saying that my blog was “all brag” (thanks nietgek).. Well I have cried and whined and moaned in the past about bad beatage from a-z, and nobody likes a whinger right?

Anyway the last 2 weeks have been anything but bragworthy… I somehow managed to win my prop bet with rod buckman , but poker was a bit of a whore.. In fact, I think I was pretty close to busting my roll (no internet banking so no idea how close I have come, but I think pretty damned close!)

Some examples of the s**t I was enduring:

Hand 1: Villain is REPEATEDLY shoving 50bb with any 2 cards, qt, any pair, ANY F@CKING 2 cards. he has been sucking out and stealing every pot with serious overbets.. he called a 30bb shove with QTo for half his stack for example…
I decide I am going to play a pot with him on the final table bubble and if i hit anything i am going with it.. Scenario: 1st pays 1100Euros, this pot is for chiplead with 13left (Bubbbbble time!)

Hand 1 - Nice call sir. “rigged anyone?”

hand 2: Obv Fulltilt hated me too (love that site really)
I have a full house.. U have like 1 out:
Hand 2 - 1outers ftl.

Hand 3: ITM in the 7500Euro Gteed on celeb. I am about to fold TT (itm) to a big 3bet with a very deep stack. He types in chat “66″. I call at lastminute, he has AA and I am a moron. OOPS. Everyone lols at me. I lol at myself.

The week wasn’t without pluses, obv I played decent and got into some nice spots with good results.

Hand 4: Sick hold for DEEEP stacks in deepstack (I love the boss media deepstacks btw. SO easy!) Hand 4

Hand 5: Even I can hit a royal Flush sometimes… Hand 5

Anyway I swung up today and shipped the sherbet for a +1600ish Euros day on MTTs.. Cash has been cool also.. Weeee

p.s Nobody Runs worse than Chris Moorman. FACT. He might be ranked #2 on p5s and have kajillions in the bank, but Ouch. I am thankful that I am not chris moorman. Losing KK to AA for CL ITM in WSOPE main event sucks, but getting your Ace High Flush beaten by a straight flush in the EPT London is just a killer. all in 3 days! Ul Chris. Go and leave him a silly message to cheer him up if you’re bored.

This week has been decent for me with a 2/1208 in the 24k on fulltilt (finally I run good on a U.S Site), Last 2 hands were my AQ V ATo for game and he flops the Ten, and last hand my Q flush v his boat. Must-be-nice!

Had some close shaves on Boss Media (and inevitible suckouts deep in some fat tournies) but nowt exciting or worthwhile…

I can’t seem to win anything big on boss this week (altho I go deep as ever..), however I did win the 1500 Gteed again (SO SOFT!) for a few hundred euro, which keeps me ahead of buyins for 2 days which is ok.

Live was prettyy sick this week as I played the Monthly 120Euro “Dundalk hundred” and got rivered by a total station (he folded 3 hands in 3 hours). Meh. only 65 runners or so, so who gives a fk.. How he can call a shove with A3o on a KK6 board and hit running 3’s is beyond me. NHGGSIR.

I also won my prop bet with slobib (who came 13th in the Scottish Poker Champs this month, gg slob!) for getting the most boss final tables (stats via the Boss / IPN Poker League website) and I have another bet for this month with Rod Buckman (should be ez if I can be bothered putting in some volume.) Rod Is a damned good player, so I think it’s good to have these small sidebets to keep you motivated.

I withdrew my cash from all sites today (after some sick beats this morning, and some terrible 6max beats on cash last night, as well as me playing like shit tbh..) So I booked a holiday to Amsterdam next month with some old Uni Buddies, and I’m looking at going to Prague or Krakow in November for a few days… yes, it’s a hard life.

Still not found a decent poker game in Newry, N.Ireland - where I recently moved to for a bit. fuckmyluck.

August was a good month. I finished my MPhil Thesis meaning I could focus on crushing the Boss Media Network MTTs and chill out a bit.

End result:
1st in the BMN monthly league, 2nd in the celeb poker league [it only counts 4 games a day for some reason] (for an extra prize of €850) and I am now back in the top 10 in the Annual Boss Poker League.

Goals
The plan is to grind a top 3 spot for 31st December.. I don’t think 1st place is attainable after my break from poker while studying for my masters, since the guy in 1st (LordJasper) grinds like a mofo and is a pretty good player imo. (kudos jasp!). My game is in top shape, so should be reasonably easy to get top 3 imo.

I am also looking good to win my sidebet with my Slovenian grinder buddy slobib for the most Boss Final Tables in a month.. he’s over in Scotland playing the Scottish Poker Champs. so that gave me a chance to ship a few extra FTs over the weekend just in case

Noticed today that I am ranked #1 this month in the BMN league, and 12th in the annual league overall despite taking a LOT of time away from poker while finishing my Thesis and moving to Ireland

Now that I am back to grinding I hope to place in top 3 in the Annual league, although it’s a BIG FUCKING MOUNTAIN to climb. I like a challenge tho. and 3 months is plenty fwiw.

Coming 1st in the 3500€ gteed yesterday (+€900) , then 2nd in the €3k (+€585) a few hours later didn’t hurt my rankings tho (However I need to stop shoving hu when the guy has 2pair obv).

So I am up a few grand on MTTs this week with little play (except 12hrs yesterday). A good start to the bet I have with my buddy Slobib [the slovenian mtt grinder] with a cash prize for whoever gets the most final tables on BMN this month.

I am Back on boss network now [enjoying my perm chatban…. ] now that my thesis is handed in (woop woop).. Good job too as stars was taking the Piss.

Wins today: 3rd in the €3500 FO for €500ish, 1st in the €2000 rebuy for €775

Busto hand in the €3500: Don’t limp 3 handed. I flop the nuts, think the guy is drawing to a flush (160-1 chance of him flopping one iirc), and he has it.. Meh…

I also played the SOFT-As-FK €2k rebuy on boss..

grinded a sick stack - got on the Final table, then I shoved QQ, and the shovemonkey with KTo obv hits and i am on like 3/4bb.

88 holds, AA > KK, and i generally play perfect poker till the end. somehow shovemonkey [any 2 cards!] gets HU with me and I destroy him..

1st place for €775 (about $1500)..

Played a step1 yesterday, then a step2, and a step 3…
Today played step 4 and got onto step5 (I got to step5 before then busted AA v 99 in 1st few hands - he hits a set on flop obv.) so I didn’t bother with steps again for months.

Anyway I got a step5 ticket and saw Stevie444 and Jorj85 were registered. These are players you want to avoid as they probably have perfect SNG strategy (I believe Stevie444 has >100 step6 wins, equalling over a million$, if you believe the hype you hear..)

Anyway to cut a long story short, I killed it and am now the proud owner of a golden step6 ticket ($2100 NLHE ticket).

EPT step6 is SICK (1st gets 15k$ package to EPT Barcelona), 2nd gets a kick in the nuts ($1300).

The APPT step 6 to APPT MACAU looks a better proposition (if you like to hedge your bets) with 3 packages up for grabs (and $1800 expenses I think).. So that’s the likely candidate. It’s 2am so I won’t play it now.. I’ll prob try to grind up some more step 5 tickets and play on the weekend. Thx to my pokerbuddy Slobib [an mtt MACHINE!] for the rail!

I Managed to get TT to hold V QQ [he had 10bb] after limping and squeezing after 3 people called.

bet he wishes he didn’t say GL! that left me 5th

Then i shove JJ into aggro raiser.. he SNAPCALLS 25bb with ATo.. flop axx yawn.

then he backdoors a str8 v my JJ
THEN he gets KK v my TT. I bust about 36th.

So i got chatbanned on celeb for talking about rakeback to some dudes on my short handed cash table. This is bad and puts me on life tilt.

Played the $109 FO on stars, lost a 30bb pot BVB with my AQ on bb versus mateyboy shoving any 2 from SB. I snapcall and he has Q8o.. I lose 10k. Then my 77 < TT, which is cool with me.Oh my lappy also went into powersave mode when I got dealt AA and I missed it. Thanks laptop.

I Final tabled the $11500 Gteed on Fulltilt (yes, fuck boss media…). ChipLeader was running like jesus on a treadmill, and outflopped my TPAK with a set of 5’s.. GG me. I busted 8th/550ish for $350 sigh. 1st paid $3.5k.

Moved to Ireland this weekend, and didn’t play much yesterday (watching Federer v Nadal etc.)

Played a long slog today, dropped about 1k on cash, playing good but running into monsters and not being able to push people off their hands…

was lookin good for a monster FT stack in the 10k Euros Rebuy (which I won the other day), then JJ < 88 for 20bb and then AQo no good BvB as the bb wakes up with KK. GG me.

Crushed a wee 1euro rebuy (LOL yeah.. These things are soft so I just load em up while I am grinding the regular boss tournies) and bombed out of everything else.

Final table was a rollercoaster, and thanks to my Pokerbuddy Slobib for the rail!

More poker underway, so maybe some more Final tables later.

Woke up at 8pm and missed most of my regular tourneys so played the 3e rebuy (don’t laugh! 1st place pays up to 900 Euros and it’s the softest mtt i have ever played)… Final tabled it and got sucked out in 4th place gg me.

Next Mtt I played was the €20 Rebuy on boss (€3500 Euros Guaranteed). Obviously I crushed it and won about €1200 for my trouble in my second back to back final table. The guy I played hu folded 90% of hands hu so I kinda steamrolled him

One more FT 2morrow and I get into the boss network Final Table Freeroll (a 10 man SNG with €15k Prizepool - to enter you must Final Table 3 of the guaranteed Tournies on boss consecutively), so will have to pick a soft mtt such as a piddly small rebuy.

I have been 6-8 tabling on cash tables on boss (with the daily mtts thrown in for good measure). Things have been quite swingy (I have been taking 1 to 2k swings), but cash is consistently easy money and the players are so bad on boss it’s unreal.

I checked my celeb poker rakeback (you can check via their website) and I have raked 1k Euros (about $1800) in 3 days or so.. so the plan is to do my daily stuff and grind 5-8 tables (3 full ring and 5 6 max) and i should be looking at maybe 7k (or $14,000 F*ckers!) in rakeback at the end of the month on top of my profits (or losses.. but that’s negative thinking!)

I boat up on river and get paid - this guy is pretty lag (having called a shove for a BI with 2nd pair and rivering a straight against me) and we have been at war. I liked my valuebet on river.. I tried to be slightly on the weak side as I don’t think he’s calling a shove here.

Next hand I get KK and RRAI over a raiser and a reraiser and they fold.

next hand after that I get Jacks again.. and with my stack its an easy shove, and somehow they hold against the shorty

Fullring is tasty as I just play super TAG and nitty, and play for stacks. of course it helps when you flop a set
