Poker hates me - I have pissed off the poker gods or *something*.

in brief:

1. Live MTT, I cr all in on the bubble with TT, having only shown down aces, Kings and a Full house. Guy calls with a donkey AQo for Tournament life and tables the Ace. Fine.

2. NLHE cash game. I have KK, 3 way pot, all in preflop. Pot ~1k Sterling. River J. what does the guy on my right have ? JJ. Other guy mucks. I proceed to show my kings and walk out the door without a word. “Normal” I think. That’s just how i am running.

3. Live 50quid MTT, Gala casino Dundee. Bubble time, I am above avg with 35k. All in preflop for a guys stack and some dead money and blinds… I have AA, he has KK. FLop Kxx. “Normal” F@#%@#^

4. Online Mtts are normalling me too. This hand (11 left in the 7500 Euros 10E rebuy on boss) was worth over 2k Euros in equity: Normal. Such fricking donkeys. ARGH. winning that hand would have meant a 1st place 80% of the time.

5. Well obviously he had Quads…

I am running like dogshit this week - and given that mtts are high variance - this sucks and my BR is taking a bruising. I’ll have to stop taking shots at some bigger rebuys until i have a few final tables this week - I am verry happy with my game, just not happy with my results.

I hope nobody else is running as bad as me, unless they deserve it haha

I played the $109 Rebuy Super Satellite for the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour - leg 2 , Walsall and of course, with lady luck on my side, I took it down for a $2500 Package. Not bad for $200. Amusingly while I was playing i couldn’t remember my online pin to deposit more for an addon (Obviously I initially took a rebuy when we were seated) - so I missed an addon and rebuy due to getting locked out of the thing. Argh. So I managed to double up thru Matt Dale when I checked top pair and shoved the turn, then I was back in business. I had a few nice hands: AA v KK, 66 v aq and a fullhouse or two for good measure.

So I’m playing
16/02/2008 £1000 + £60 NL Hold’em Main Event

and maybe some of the side events depending which day I need to be there for the main event. I am also playing in the then Irish Poker Open the following month. This Live poker playing is hectic but you gotta travel for anything worthwhile… It’s all good.

Tonight I also came 2nd in the 2500 euros Guaranteed on Boss network for 620 euros.. Final hand my AK v AA. boooo….

well I was 31 this week - that was exciting.. nothing else to report really.

Poker has been a bit meh.. I Had a 2 day session of mtt suckouts and cash table suckouts, but kept my bankrolls afloat somehow on some mega loose cash tables.

Tonight I came 4th in the 7500euro rebuy on celeb poker for 600euro (exit hand my KK v 44.. no prizes for guessing the rivercard). I was owning the 3k rebuy at 2am on boss until my Aces get cracked by a donkey and I bubbled. Sicked.

Last night I tried the 109euros rebuy on boss network - it only had about 12 players and i managed to get beaten horribly by the board to take 3rd place for about 400 euros.

I qualified for ftops event 1 via a satellite too, that should be fun. nothing else strange or startling.

Tonight i joined FullTilt and gave the 50$ rebuy a shot.
I ran nice - thanks to my AA - which held vs KK and TTand managed to get to Chiplead. Later flopped the nuts and had a decent stack.

Of course, on the bubble I got a guy all in for a pot that would have been good for a top 3 at least and of course he rivers me (QK on 9Kx board, all in on turn, ace on river..Normal….) out 18th, 17 paid. Groan.
Oh well - first go at one of these on FT , so not to worry. every dog has his day.

in brief:
yesterday played about 10 mtts, and somehow despite copious sick beats I final tabled one to break even.. crap.

I also played a gukpt 109$ rebuy sat.. got to about 15k in chips then got fucked over when my overpair (pp) was invalidated when two higher pairs came out on the flop… guy has ace in hand and collects and i am left with a donkey stack. This hand put me on donkey-tilt, and i subsequently shoved 88 into 99 and didn’t suck out. nhggfu…..

Today I received a nice email from bluesq regarding my Irish open package:

Woot- The hotel looks smashing and i look forward to meeting a lot of good poker players I have played with and chatted to on msn/forums/tables.

Today’s Mtts were pretty dire…

1st up 7500 Euros rebuy #1 on boss network:
I chipped up to about 16k, then after RB period I flopped a set [i had pocket 8’s] and got 2 guys all in. Needless to say I got sucked out. Next up KK into AA into KT. Did AA win? did it fook. KT busts us both, AIPF.

2nd up, the 10pm 7500 Euros Rebuy on boss network:
I played some awesome poker and chipped up easily to about 60k, before donating 50% of my stack to someone who was making a lot of silly plays. I chipped back up, then later on I made this beautiful play against a big-stack who was being way too aggressive and I got paid, leaving me on 150K Chips (possibly CL at this stage). I had a nice hand with QQ on a TTx Board where I got upto 250k chips (Chipleader).. Anyway I got to HU with 1million chips to about 600k, then I tried to run 2 big bluffs for 250k each, but my opponent looked me up both times with mid/bottom pair, and I didn’t manage to claw it back.. Result - 2nd for 1500Euros… better than a kick in the nads I guess.
