Today I played the GUKPT sat (300$ buyin) on bluesq (busted 9th my AK v TT - only 5 paid. Grr)

I also played the $250 Super sat to the 2008 Irish open, and obviously I played balla’ and took it down.

I also took down a wee 6Euro Mtt (good for TLB points)

all in all a good day - made a few thousand Euros last night when and playing on 5/10 - so an awesome start to xmas.

I am over in ireland visiting family, so not getting too much poker in.
This morning was a good session on 1/2 and 2/4, and I owned a small mtt for some TLB points and some cash.

I had a straight flush during the MTT which I won too.

The cash game has been fun today too, esp these two profitable hands:

In brief: 2nd in a mtt (3 outered, a9 v 9t or something similar), 4th in another and 11th in the 7500 euros rebuy (and 30th next time around). MTT profit today ~600 Euros.

Cash:

I probably played < 100 hands today, however two memorable hands include:

a 785 pot I don’t know how my aces stood up with 4 spades on the board.

Boat me up - 549 pot.

I am also creeping up the December TLB for celeb poker nicely, and am happy since I haven’t played many morning sessions this week (unlike the grinders above me in the table that play from morning to night). This is my first foray into Tournament Leaderboard-land, and by the looks of things so far, 2008 will be a good year for this shit. Yeehaw.

I flop the nuts - and get screwed by a muppet who cannot fold a flushdraw. Grr

QQ v 99 - one of the only two remaining strongs player on the table says bye-bye.

Chipleader pays me off - CL is mega aggressive and thinks he is invincible. I shove ace rag at him from the blinds and double up.

QQ again - I hate queens - this time they hold v AT. Tyvm.

CL gives me a cheap straight draw.. And I get paid.

KK on an AAx Flop - I could be beaten here, but I am not folding to this guy. He is a calling station.

AQ v a8s - Game over Baby.

I was especially happy with my play because when we started heads-up I had a 5-1 chip deficit.

Multi Table Tourneys

2nd/176 in a small buy-in MTT (good for some tourney leaderboard points biaattch), plus another mtt final table (5th I think, my AKs busted by AA), as usual, I ran into plenty of suckouts too - as is the norm. Why can’t people fold these 1 card flushdraws? sigh.

I had a reasonably ok run in the €7500 euros rebuy but sadly bubbled. This hand was fun - I figured they had AK AQ or AJ, thus leaving them drawing thin postflop - so I jammed hoping to isolate or get a 3 way pot. I hit my set and get paid, and next hand my aces were cracked.

I dabbled a bit in cash games too (keeps me sane and interested) - Some hands below.

QQ busted, perhaps I should have folded to his postflop reraise (he was 3-betting me way too much, so it was a bad judgement call on my part) (€391 Pot).

My aces get flushed - I hate this type of player - calling a raise with suited gappers and fishing for a flush. Some people only seem to be able to profit by playing filth. I did get my cash in ahead though. Sigh (€466 Pot)

Made a decent profit today, so all is good. My stats this week are pretty sick as my little pokergraph shows:

Oh i saw this book cover on google while I was looking for a suitable image for a reply to someone on UK Gambling Forums (they were on the final table) - it made me chuckle.

Mtts have been horrible to me all weekend - I have played about 20 and bubbled about 12 in two days, with only 2 final table finishes (in games which are financially insignificant, however they are good for TLB points if they have 300+ Fields)

I have been running my bankroll up on the cash tables to cope with the misery of negative MTT variance, so here’s a few interesting hands I played.

Hand 1 - Quadded - I flop top pair, ok kicker and 3rd nut flush draw.. Does he have a set? I should have jammed the turn - thats what happens when you try to be too tricky. I am bad.

Hand 2 - Set action - I flatcall a 3-bet and hit a set on a horrible flush board… (+€299)

Hand 3- Set V Set - It’s set v set for €555 baby. (+€555)

Hand 4 - Rockets - a set of aces (+€479)

Hand 5 - Pocket Ladies - I face a tough decision with QQ on a horrid board and opt to pass. The turn-card is scary and I was sure I was up against a set or overpair. Good fold ? (- €220)

Hand 6 - Ship me those chips. - maybe the biggest single pot i have won in online poker. I would love to know what I was called with (I suspect AdKd). (+€1363.20)

apart from the last hand and owning Dan carter Heads-Up (and recording it, har har) that was all of my weekend poker excitement (yes, Carter did beat me in the rematch - I guess I had beter add that or he’ll never talk to me again haha.)

Anyway thats enough jabber from me. Bedtime.. Going to try a day of mtts tomorrow, but it sure is tiring.

My week in poker was reasonably uneventful - I cashed a few times in MTTs and bubbled plenty of big cashes too. Negative variance sucks…

This weekend I decided I was going to attempt to dominate a MTT leaderboard for December on one of the poker skins I frequent. I regged in 90% of the MTTs on 1st december and only managed to Final table two of them (an 8th, my TT v QKs) and a 3rd (another suckout). I clocked up some decent points on the TLB for day 1, So the plan was to persist with the challenge, and hope I don’t end up looking like a Tournament Leaderboard (TLB) Zombie.

Unusually, this weekend I have not been able to chip up in the rebuy periods of the big rebuys I play, and this has led to me spewing a lot of bankroll (I have been missing massive draws (e.g Open Ended Straight Flush Draws)), getting 3 outered with AK v AQ soo many times, and so on.. so not good in the MTTs so far this weekend.

So in an effort to recoup some MTT buyins, I sat down earlier to play on 1/2 Euros NLHE.
After about 15 mins, I get dealt KK (my username is nhggfu)… Whoopeee I thought!

After this hand, and the generally poor run I have had this weekend I am disgusted at poker. I am however playing the 100kEuros guaranteed tonight on the Boss network (Buyin 130 euros or so), so maybe that will turn things around.

Edit: I played the 6euro rebuy (or maybe it was a freezeout) and a few other mtts (cashed in a few), but won the 6euro game - 1st for nearly 500euros.

This hand was Massive - and gave me a chip-lead akin to a big Axe.

The Last hand - I was actually talking my way into winning a lot of pots. I induced a call by telling mr passive that I had A2, and goading him into calling me. Nh GG. TonyG videos are useful for stuff like this

Positive variance rules (although steamrolling and having 3 passive players on the final table also helps). This should get me some FAT TLB points since the field was reasonably sized.

Next stop the 100K Euros guaranteed. Ship it to nhggfu.
Edit: Or not. Sigh.

I’ll play some other mtts instead.
